Annual Greens Sale – Dian Mathews & Diana Kasper — This major fundraiser is held on the first weekend in December following 2 days of decorating and assembly workshops. Berry Bowls, Kissing Balls, Boxwood Trees and Sprays are created from scratch and wreaths are decorated. The next sale will be December 1st & 2, 2017, at The Historical Society of Cheshire County, 246 Main Street, Keene, NH. Proceeds benefit Scholarship Fund and other club projects.
Annual Plant Sale – Dale Randall, Judy Guyette & Ann Marie Rizzuto — An early spring “kick-off” with
potted plants, seedlings, cuttings and garden plantings available for new gardens. The Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Gazebo near Swanzey Town Hall. Proceeds fund various club projects.
|Civic Beautification & Swanzey Plantings – Rachael Schnyer — The Town of Swanzey is the beneficiary of several floral plantings at traffic triangles and along stone walls. A dedicated core of members does spring clean-up, planting, weeding and fall clean-up with assistance from the Monadnock Regional High School Interact Group.|
| Garden Therapy – Betty Fay & Joyce Samsel — Members visit several area nursing homes, assisted living facilities and an adult day care center at least once a year, conducting floral arrangements helping to plant gardens. Currently, the following centers are visited:
Gloves & Micro Cleaning Cloths – Dale Randall — Protect those hands and organize gardening tools with gloves and handy aprons. Then use micro cleaning cloths to pick up dirt and dust rather than just moving it around.
Penny Pines – Marcia Demers — Collecting loose change at meetings until $68 are collected. Then an acre of trees are planted in honor of someone special who contributes time and energy to club purposes.
Recycling Flip Tabs – Deb Bean — Ring tabs from aluminum cans are collected and sent to The Shriners Burn Center for the purpose of recovering the raw material, proceeds from which will purchase burn rehabilitation equipment and supplies.
